Horrific Visions Mounts: All Six Secret Mounts

The revisited Horrific Visions from patch 11.1.5 hide six mounts that nothing in the game tells you about. Five need Faceless Masks, which make hidden objects appear in the corrupted cities, and a small secret: a food puzzle, four cursed horseshoes, a set of wolf gear, a locked roost or a goblin with a strange orb. The sixth, the Nesting Swarmite, hides in the rubbish piles of both cities and needs no mask at all.

Added: patch 11.1.5 (The War Within) · Where: Horrific Visions Revisited, from Dornogal · Masks: 1 or 2 · Solo: yes · Last checked: October 2026

Before you start

  • Where: the visions start from the camp south of the Coreway in Dornogal, on the Isle of Dorn. No key is needed and you can run them as often as you like. The old visions in Silithus don't have these mounts.
  • Which city: everyone gets the same city in a given week, Stormwind one week and Orgrimmar the next.
  • Masks: turn masks on at their altars before you talk to the Image of Wrathion. The first one, the Faceless Mask of the Long Night, comes from clearing every area in one run without a mask. Each mask makes enemies tougher, but these hidden objects only appear with enough masks on.
  • Loot it yourself: each mount boss drops the mount for one player per kill, and nothing is mailed if you forget to loot the body. Go solo, or repeat the run for each friend.

Players were still collecting all five in summer and September 2026, after the Midnight launch.

Stormwind week

Void-Forged Stallion (1 mask)

Pick up a Cursed Horseshoe in each of four areas; you don't have to finish their objectives.

  • Cathedral Square, southeast of the fountain (56.0, 55.5).
  • Mage Quarter, by the tree outside the clothing shop (50.9, 84.0).
  • Trade District, between the bank and the inn (61.5, 75.5).
  • Old Town, outside the Pig and Whistle (75.6, 56.8).

Melt all four at the forge in the Dwarven District (63.0, 37.2) and kill the Void-Forged Stallion that appears. It is a ground mount.

Void-Scarred Gryphon (2 masks)

The gryphon only comes down for the food it remembers, and the food changes every run.

  1. Buy one of each of the eight foods below on the Auction House before you go in. They are cheap Khaz Algar cooking items.
  2. In the Trade District, read both Ripped Notes: one by the wall near the small well (65.7, 71.6) says raw or cooked, the other at the top of the stairs (68.6, 73.3) says fish, fungus, spiced meat or steak.
  3. Put the matching food in the Claw Marked Bowl behind Inquisitor Darkspeak (68.1, 73.4), then use the bowl again and rattle it. The gryphon can take about 20 seconds to land.
  4. Kill the Void-Scarred Gryphon and loot the reins.

You get one try per run. The wrong food brings a swarm of rats instead, and the bowl disappears until your next run.

Orgrimmar week

Void-Scarred Pack Mother (1 mask)

  1. Loot the Worn Wolf Saddle inside the Auction House in the Valley of Honor (67.3, 36.2). Take it first: the other order caused problems.
  2. Loot the Bag of Wolf Tack outside the big tent in the Valley of Wisdom (39.2, 49.6).
  3. In The Drag, go into the leatherworking building and click the grey Wolf Skin Rug inside (61.0, 55.0), not the brown rugs outside. The buff often doesn't show two stacks, but the rug still works.
  4. Kill the Void-Scarred Wolf and loot the harness. The Pack Mother is a ground mount.

Void-Scarred Windrider (2 masks)

  1. Clear the Valley of Wisdom, including its boss Vez'okk the Lightless. That unlocks a lift.
  2. Take the lift up the ramp on the right in the Valley of Wisdom (49.2, 50.8), not the one near Thrall.
  3. On the Skyway, walk south to the Void-Scarred Cubs (49.6, 57.0) and attack them. Waves of cubs and wyverns follow, and last comes the Void-Scarred Wyvern Matriarch, who drops the reins.

Both weeks: the Void-Crystal Panther

The Panther is crafted by a Khaz Algar jewelcrafter, and its reagents only start dropping once you have found a hidden orb. It flies and runs.

  1. Orgrimmar week: with a mask on, kill Big Keech in the jewelcrafting building in the Valley of Honor (72.4, 34.8), on the right before the way up to Rexxar. He drops the Void-Bound Orb of Mystery, and the Design for jewelcrafters. He is not the Big Keech who sells Deathcycle parts in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
  2. Black Blood Infused Bars (4): one per run, at the altar in the Valley of Wisdom (Orgrimmar) or at the forge in the Dwarven District (Stormwind).
  3. Unusual Gems (1): from Valeera's chest for clearing Old Town in Stormwind.
  4. Shadow-Infused Onyx (20): from the chests at the end of a run, a few per run. This is the slow part.
  5. Craft it at a jeweler's bench, or bring all the reagents to Clerk Gretal in Dornogal and place a crafting order.

Either week: the Nesting Swarmite

A flying Nerubian mount that needs no mask. Each city has five Trash piles; clicking one spawns enemies, and very rarely one of them is the Nesting Swarmite, which always drops the mount. Players report anything from the first pile to more than seventy.

  • Orgrimmar: Valley of Strength (47.5, 74.4), The Drag (57.3, 60.7), Valley of Honor (69.1, 49.7), Valley of Spirits (40.3, 79.5), Valley of Wisdom (50.7, 45.1).
  • Stormwind: Cathedral Square, in a broken cart outside City Hall (55.8, 49.3), Dwarven District (62.9, 30.7), Old Town (73.7, 62.6), Trade District (66.1, 76.4), Mage Quarter (52.7, 77.2).

The quick farm: go in without masks, click the piles nearest the entrance, leave and queue again.

Combine it with the Deathcycle

The same visions hide the Felreaver Deathcycle, and many of its parts sit right next to these mounts: Valeera's chest in Old Town gives both a Deathcycle part and the Panther's gems, Haymar stands next to the Dwarven District forge, and the Deathcycle engine block in The Drag is next to the wolf rug.
