Newman's Landing
On the western coast of Dun Morogh, hidden from Coldridge Valley by the mountains, stands a single human house with a dock. Inside are piles of bones. On the dock a signpost reads "Newman's Landing", with an axe stuck in it.
What is there
A run-down house, an alcohol still, open crates of grain and broken barrels. Inside the house lie heaps of orc skeletons, one of them in the fireplace. On the dock: the signpost with the hatchet, a few lanterns, a table with two tankards, and a sunken boat in the water below. There are no monsters, no quests and nothing to loot. You can reach it by swimming along the coast, from the Wetlands, or, since flying came to the old world, over the mountains west of Coldridge Valley.

How it changed
- At first the area belonged to the Great Sea: a character standing there showed as "Unknown", and dying there sent you to your faction's default graveyard. Since patch 3.0.2 it counts as part of Dun Morogh.
- Fishing there used to fail with "There are no fish here"; since patch 3.0.9 you catch Dun Morogh fish.
- Patch 3.0.2 added a goblin, High Admiral "Shelly" Jorrik, and two Booty Bay Bruisers to the dock. A bug sent the guards running all the way to Booty Bay if you pulled them. All three were removed in Legion.
- In WoW Classic's Season of Discovery, Newman's Landing was the home of the former knight Aeonas, until the Scarlet Crusade caught him.
The urban legend
The name gave rise to a legend: that new Alliance characters are briefly placed here, at a "new man's landing", for a split second before the intro starts, and that standing in the right spot lets you see level 1 characters flicker in and out. Nobody ever proved it.
