Mrrl's Secret Stash: the Crimson Tidestallion

Mrrl is a little murloc you rescue in Nazjatar. Afterwards he runs a trading post with his relatives, and if you wear the right cape he shows you a second, secret stock. Some days that stock includes a red seahorse.

Type: aquatic mount · Added: patch 8.2.0 · Players: solo · Achievement: Mrrl's Secret Stash, part of the Mind-Seeker list

Before you start

  • Finish the Nazjatar story up to A Tempered Blade (Alliance) or Save A Friend (Horde).
  • Rescue Mrrl from Dragon's Teeth Basin with the quest A Safer Place. He then sets up shop in Mezzamere and Newhome, and teaches you the basics of murloc trading with the quest No Backs.
  • Get the Azsh'ari Stormsurger Cape. Buy Benthic cloaks for five Prismatic Manapearls each until one of them turns into the cape.

How the trading works

Mrrl and his family sell goods for other goods, never for gold alone. Prices are random and change at every daily reset, and each item can be bought once a day. With the cape equipped, a second set of items appears: the secret stash.

The Crimson Tidestallion

The mount is not on sale every day. Check Mrrl first; if the Crimson Tidestallion is in his stash, work backwards from its price. The chain usually starts with a Hungry Herald's Tentacle Taco from Murloco, bought with the cape on, and runs through about eleven trades between the murlocs: sea vegetables, naga eyeballs, murloc horns, cultist fingers and more. In total it costs around 1,800 gold.

Buying the mount awards the achievement Mrrl's Secret Stash, which counts toward the Mind-Seeker feat.
