Hand of Nilganihmaht: All Five Rings

A giant floating hand from the Maw, earned by finding five rings and sliding one onto each of its fingers. Most of it is solo, apart from one step where three players have to summon rares together.

Before you start

• The Maw: finish the Shadowlands intro campaign through all four zones, pick a covenant, finish its first chapter and Bolvar's The Highlord Calls.
• Ve'nari: reach Tentative for Rule 5: Be Audacious, which opens Perdition Hold. Ambivalent (Rule 6) is worth it too: it protects you from the Beastwarrens screeching.
• Archivists' Codex: Tier 4 lets you buy Repaired Riftkeys to enter the Rift through portals in Korthia. A friend's Collapsing Riftstone can also take you in.

Ring 1: Nilganihmaht's Stone Ring

Four Quartered Ancient Rings from Perdition Hold, forged into one. The first part needs the Necrolord assault in the Maw, specifically the quest Putting A Plan Together, which gives you the Overcharged Centurion vehicle. Assaults rotate twice a week.

1. In the Centurion, walk the walls of Perdition Hold and open Mawsworn Caches. The first ring only drops if you open them from inside the vehicle.

2. Caches can also drop a Defense Map, which starts Clearing the Walls. Its reward is the second ring, and the quest can be shared.
3. The third ring lies somewhere on the ground around Perdition Hold, often by the vases near Shadeweaver Zeris.

4. Once you hold one ring, the Maw Mad Construct starts running around Perdition Hold shouting your name. Kill it for the fourth ring. Rare-alert addons don't catch it, so wait near Draka and watch chat.

Take all four to a Soulsteel Forge in Zovaal's Cauldron (the closest is at 41.8, 42.2) and use a ring there to forge them together.

Ring 2: Nilganihmaht's Runed Band

From the rare Torglluun, which only exists in the Rift (28.7, 25.0). The drop is close to guaranteed, and he can also drop the Bottled Shade Heart toy. He respawns in 40 to 60 minutes, so try War Mode or another shard if he's dead.

Ring 3: Nilganihmaht's Gold Band

A climbing puzzle. Start at 18.6, 39.0 and work your way up the big rock formation above the Crucible of the Damned to the ring at 19.1, 32.2. Patience matters more than mobility.

Ring 4: Nilganihmaht's Signet Ring

Dropped by Exos, Herald of Domination at the top of Domination Keep. To reach him you need Domination's Calling, made from three etchings dropped by three Herald rares:

• Dominion Etching: Pain from Talaporas, Herald of Pain (28.9, 11.6), not during the Venthyr assault.
• Dominion Etching: Loss from Apholeias, Herald of Loss (19.4, 41.4), not during the Night Fae assault.
• Dominion Etching: Grief from Ekphoras, Herald of Grief (42.1, 21.2).

Each Herald needs three players standing on three of the four summoning spots and channelling together. A grey-blue mist on the spots means the Herald is available. Use Domination's Calling in the middle of the inner Altar of Domination, in the cave at 23.1, 68.7. It has a 24-hour cooldown, but a friend's works too. Take the portal up and kill Exos.

Ring 5: Nilganihmaht's Silver Ring

Inside the Domination Sealed Chest in Desmotaeron (66.1, 57.5, almost under a staircase), which needs four Seal Breaker Keys:

1. Ylva (66.4, 42.0) drops Feeder's Hand and Key with the first key inside. She respawns about hourly.

2. Any Maldraxxi Defector in Desmotaeron has a small (about 2%) chance to drop the second key.
3. Helgarde Supply Caches around Desmotaeron usually hold the third key. They don't show on the minimap, so search by eye.

4. The Harrower's Key Ring hangs on the cave wall to the right of Kjellrun (cave entrance 66.8, 56.1, key 65.6, 60.0). It respawns in a few minutes if someone took it.

The ritual

Enter the Rift, then go to the Hollow of the Insolent in the Planes of Torment (entrance 25.7, 32.5). The Hand waits at the back (25.4, 36.6). Click the five glowing points, one per finger, to place the rings, then take Gotta Hand It To Ya for the mount.
