Long-Forgotten Hippogryph: Hunting the Ephemeral Crystals
Five small purple crystals hide somewhere in Azsuna. Touch all five before anyone else on your realm does, and a hippogryph that's been forgotten for ten thousand years comes to you.

How the crystals work
- The Ephemeral Crystals are small and purple. Only five are active on a realm at any time, and they all respawn together every 2 to 8 hours.
- Clicking one gives you a hidden 8-hour buff. You need five different crystals before it runs out.
- Dying wipes your progress. Logging out or leaving Azsuna doesn't.
- The first player to complete a set gets the Reins of the Long-Forgotten Hippogryph, and the whole zone sees "You hear a faint caw in the distance and then silence..."
- Your five crystals don't have to come from the same realm or phase.

Where they spawn
There are 99 known spawn points. Some are hidden behind trees, inside caves or underwater. A sensible route sweeps Azsuna from north to south and checks the caves on the way.

Make sure you're standing in Azsuna before you paste these, or the markers end up on the wrong map. With TomTom you
can paste the whole list at once with /ttpaste.

Oceanus Cove
Three spawns are inside Oceanus Cove, which has its own map, so these coordinates only work once you're inside. One entrance is at 48.1, 50.6: fly past the shipwreck and turn left into the caves. Inside: west 51.0, 76.0; east 84.0, 81.8; north 45.6, 30.3.

Leyhollow Cave
Two more are in Leyhollow Cave south of Azurewing Repose, where the blue dragons are (entrance 47.9, 24.8). Inside, check 50.2, 23.4 by a large crystal and 50.5, 20.4 out in the open.

Use the other phases
If someone has cleared the crystals in your phase, check the others. A realm can have four: War Mode off, War Mode on, and both of those again in Chromie Time. You can toggle War Mode in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. Chromie Time works for characters up to level 80 and is set by talking to Chromie in either capital. The campaign you pick doesn't matter.

To check whether you're in Chromie Time: /dump C_PlayerInfo.IsPlayerInChromieTime()
Tips
- Write down where you found each crystal. If you lose the buff, you'll know where to look.
- A crystal you can't click in a new phase probably shares an ID with one you've already used.
- If you've clicked five and nothing happens, the usual fix is to die and click all five again.
- Passengers on a two-seat mount should get off before clicking, or the click can fail.
- TomTom with LFH Waypoints (
/lfhway) or the HandyNotes plugin puts every spawn on your map.
