Scarlet Crusade Transmog: The Hidden Darkmoon Vendor

Behind the pony rides at the Darkmoon Faire stands a woman in Scarlet Crusade colours who insults everyone who talks to her. Wear the real Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade and she changes her tune: the Scarlet Quartermaster sells a cropped Scarlet tabard and the old Scarlet armour as a full ensemble, including a plate version that never dropped anywhere.

Step 1: get the Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade

The Quartermaster only trades with you while the real tabard is equipped; a different tabard transmogged to look Scarlet doesn't count. There are two ways to farm it, both solo at max level and both open any week:

• Scarlet Halls: Armsmaster Harlan, the second boss, drops it about once in every 60 to 75 kills (Normal or Heroic).
• The old Scarlet Monastery: after Herod in the old Armory, a wave of Scarlet Trainees runs in, and they drop the tabard far more often. Getting into the pre-Mists Scarlet Monastery needs The Scarlet Key, explained in our Scarlet Monastery of Old guide. Players confirmed drops there in August and September 2026.

Step 2: find the Scarlet Quartermaster

The Darkmoon Faire opens on the first Sunday of each month and stays for a week. On Darkmoon Island, go to the east end of the Zoo Bizarre, behind the pony area (/way 58.2, 80.7). Equip the tabard and talk to her.

What she sells

• Cropped Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade: 25,000 gold, any class.
• Ensemble: Chain of the Scarlet Crusade: 10,000 gold, mail wearers only. It unlocks the original Scarlet mail set from vanilla.
• Ensemble: Scale of the Scarlet Crusade: 10,000 gold, plate wearers only. The same six pieces as plate, a version that was never loot.

Cloth and leather characters only see the cropped tabard. The ensembles need level 13. They don't show up as a set in the Appearances tab, so build the outfit piece by piece.

More Scarlet looks in the old monastery

The old Scarlet Monastery is worth a visit anyway: the vanilla Scarlet Leggings drop there again from Herod and Commander Mograine, along with Whitemane's Chapeau, the Robe of Doan, Herod's Shoulder and the Aegis of the Scarlet Commander. The Scarlet Enclave you may have read about is a Classic Season of Discovery raid and has no retail transmog.
