Hidden Weapon Illusions and Where They Come From
Some weapon illusions don't appear in the Appearances tab at all until you collect them. Some are class illusions that other classes never see, others come from covenants, holidays, PvP seasons or promotions. Here is where each one comes from and which ones you can still get in October 2026.

- ExpansionWorld of Warcraft
| Illusion: Void Edge Item Level 17 Binds when picked up |
| Use: Collect the weapon enchantment appearance of Void Edge. |
Class illusions
Only the listed class can learn or see these. All of them drop in old raids that one max-level character can solo.
- Rune of Razorice (death knight): The Lich King, Icecrown Citadel, about 1%.
- Poisoned (rogue): Griftah sells it, either for 5,000 Dingy Iron Coins in Draenor or for 25,000 Coins of Air in the Hall of Shadows.
- Flametongue (shaman): Ragnaros, Molten Core.
- Frostbrand (shaman): Hydross the Unstable or The Lurker Below, Serpentshrine Cavern.
- Earthliving (shaman): Valithria Dreamwalker, Icecrown Citadel.
- Windfury (shaman): Al'Akir, Throne of the Four Winds.
- Rockbiter (shaman): Tectus, Highmaul.
The shaman illusions are unusual: their effect circles around the weapon instead of glowing from it.
Void Edge
The best-hidden illusion that is still around. It comes from Valeera's chest at the end of Old Town in the Horrific Vision of Stormwind, at about a 7% chance, and not from the final chest. It came back with Horrific Visions Revisited in patch 11.1.5.
Covenant and Shadowlands illusions
- Covenants (Renown 36, 2,500 Anima at the sanctum vendor): Transcendent Soul (Kyrian), Unbreakable Resolve (Necrolord), Wild Soul (Night Fae) and Sinwrath (Venthyr).
- Reputations (Exalted, 1,000 gold from the Oribos quartermasters): Devoted Spirit (The Ascended), Undying Spirit (The Undying Army), Hunt's Favor (The Wild Hunt) and Sinsedge (Court of Harvesters).

Holiday illusions
- Flames of Ragnaros and Winter's Grasp: Feast of Winter Veil, from the Stolen Present and the Smokywood Pastures Special Gift.
- Deathfrost: Midsummer Fire Festival, from the satchel for the daily Ahune kill.
- Summer Sun Blossom: new in patch 12.0.7, 250 Burning Blossoms from the Midsummer merchants.

Rare raid illusions worth a look
These do show in the tab, but they're easy to miss: Mongoose (Moroes, Karazhan), Blood Draining (Yogg-Saron), Power Torrent (Nefarian's End, Blackwing Descent), Colossus (Will of the Emperor, Mogu'shan Vaults), Jade Spirit (Sha of Fear), Nightmare (Xavius) and Chronos (Chronomatic Anomaly, the Nighthold).
The ones you can't get anymore
- Sha Corruption (Pandaria Remix) and Felshatter (Legion Remix): achievement rewards that ended with their events.
- Wraithchill: came with the Shadowlands Epic Edition, which was retired in October 2022.
- Stinging Sands: the old Recruit-A-Friend reward, which new recruits no longer count toward.
- PvP illusions from past seasons, such as Demonic Tyranny, Dreadflame and the Shadowlands and Dragonflight Duelist illusions. The Warlords ones, Glorious Tyranny and Primal Victory, can still be bought in Ashran by players who earned them back then. Midnight's own season illusions, Galaxy and Venomcoil, need Rival II.
