Mechanical Hunter Pets: Every Secret Robot Tame
Since Legion, hunters can tame mechanical beasts, and Blizzard hid the best of them behind small puzzles: a technician who switches on a robot sabre-tooth, a pocket-sized Iron Juggernaut you build from raid parts, and a gnome laboratory on Alcaz Island full of clockwork spiders that need a key and a careful 30%.

Learning to tame mechanicals
Gnome, goblin and mechagnome hunters can tame mechanical beasts from the start. Everyone else uses the Mecha-Bond Imprint Matrix once, and the skill stays for good. Legion engineers craft it (the schematic costs a Curious Coin from Xur'ios in Dalaran), and it turns up on the Auction House. Mechanicals aren't exotic, so any spec can use them.
Sabertron
In a cave on the big island off the north-west coast of Stormsong Valley (35.0, 32.7), kill the Sabertron Technician; as he dies he switches on a robot sabre-tooth that you can tame. Normally that's the red one. While the world quest "Sabertron" is up, he can wake the orange, copper, yellow or green one instead, but players reported in 2026 that the quest has been stuck on orange for months.
Iron Juggernaut
A pet-sized copy of the first boss of Siege of Orgrimmar, which you build yourself:
- Kill the Iron Juggernaut for a Pile of Juggernaut Parts and Siegecrafter Blackfuse for Blackfuse's Power Core (Normal or higher, not Raid Finder).
- Pick one paint bucket in the raid: green on the way to General Nazgrim, blue below Malkorok, teal near the Spoils of Pandaria, grey between the Paragons and Garrosh.
- Click the bucket, summon the Deactivated Juggernaut inside the raid and tame it.
One per week, so the four colours take four weeks.

Alcaz Island: Arachnodrones and Model GU-4RD-3R
Alcaz Island off Dustwallow Marsh hides a gnome laboratory. You need the old Theramore phase: if the town is in ruins, talk to Zidormi on the bridge west of Theramore.
- Arachnodrones come in gold (the broken tower in the south-west, 76.0, 22.0), silver (an underground cell beside the big building, 76.7, 20.0) and copper (outside the northern building, 75.0, 14.8). Kill Doctor Weavil upstairs in the largest building for an Electrified Key, use it on a spider, bring it to 30% health and interrupt Maximum Repair, then tame.
- Model GU-4RD-3R, a green robot wolf, guards Weavil's building (77.6, 17.2). No key needed: bring him below 30% and tame.
At max level you'll one-shot them. Take off your gear and punch, or use the Whole-Body Shrinka' toy to lower your damage.
And in Gnomeregan
Friender, a sleeping robot wolf in the Engineering Labs, wakes after three light puzzles. His neighbour Endgineer Omegaplugg, the secret boss behind the "PUSH ME!" button, can't be tamed at all; he only drops a toy.
