Pandaria's Hidden Hunter Pets: All Ten Trackables
Ten rare beasts walk the zones of Pandaria completely invisible. Only hunters see them, and only as a trail of footprints in the grass. Follow the tracks, throw a Flare just ahead of where they stop, and the beast appears long enough to be tamed. Some of them are still the only creatures in the game with their look.

How tracking works
- Find the tracks and follow them in the direction the toes point.
- Where the tracks end, throw Flare a little ahead. The beast is only visible inside the Flare.
- Put Hunter's Mark on it so it stays visible when it walks out, then tame.
- Set Ground Clutter to its lowest setting; the tracks hide in the grass.
- Track Hidden doesn't reveal them.
- Chasing is slow. Camping a narrow spot or the end of the path and spamming Flare with a trap down is usually faster.
- Don't attack them: at today's level one hit kills them, and you wait for the respawn.
- They keep their names after taming. Water striders, Bombyx and Portent are exotic, so Beast Mastery only; the rest work in any spec.
The ten beasts
Portent: the quilen with four colours
Vale of Eternal Blossoms, from Autumnshade Ridge to the wall north of Mogu'shan Palace, about 32 minutes end to end. Each spawn rolls purple, red, green or blue at random, so collectors tame it again and again. A narrow spot by a big rock at 60.3, 64.4 works well. Exotic (Stone Hound). Tamed as recently as June 2026.

Savage: the white tiger
The Jade Forest, from the waterfall north of Emperor's Omen to an overlook facing Nectarbreeze Orchard, about 36 minutes. Its bloody tracks are among the hardest to read. Mark it the instant it appears or it slips back into stealth mid-tame. Camp at the turnaround at 38.0, 64.9. Any spec (Cat).

Hexapos: the white fen strider
Dread Wastes, a long loop of about 50 minutes from the Briny Muck to Kypari'Vor. The only tameable white three-legged fen strider. Camp under the giant root at 62.1, 28.7; players tamed it there in 2025 and April 2026. Exotic (Water Strider).

Glimmer: the red water strider
The Jade Forest, from The Arboretum to Nectarbreeze Orchard, the shortest path at about half an hour. Half the route crosses quest-phased areas where it vanishes, so camp the unphased west turnaround at 38.4, 72.5. It's the only tameable red strider. Exotic (Water Strider).

Bombyx: the silkworm
Along the Krasarang River in Krasarang Wilds. Instead of footprints it leaves tufts of chewed silkweed, and it wanders in circles, so don't follow them: camp between the roots of two big trees at 32.6, 48.5 and spam Flare. It can't be slowed, so tame as soon as it shows. The only tameable purple silkworm. Exotic (Worm).
Patrannache: the hardest one
Valley of the Four Winds. Tiny bird prints and the longest path of all, about 100 minutes, through most of the zone. Traps don't hold it, so bring a second hunter for Flares or keep Hunter's Mark up. Try the dip next to the Halfhill road at 49.0, 48.0. The pink crane look is no longer unique. Any spec (Waterfowl).

Bloodtooth: the red dragon turtle
The southern coast and islets of Krasarang Wilds, about 40 minutes, often through shallow water. Its dark tracks on light sand are the easiest to spot. Camp near 49.0, 71.0. Any spec (Turtle).

Bristlespine: the blue porcupine
Southern Kun-Lai Summit, a 45-minute loop past Westwind Rest and One Keg. Dark-green tracks on dark grass are hard to see. Freezing Trap works on it. Any spec (Rodent).

Rockhide the Immovable: the crystal basilisk
Central Townlong Steppes, from the sea cliff west of Fire Camp Osul to a stone tower near Sik'vess, about half an hour. The only tameable magenta basilisk with cyan crystals. It never fights back; trap it and tame. Camp at 63.2, 67.2. Any spec (Basilisk).

Stompy: the mountain goat
Kun-Lai Summit, straight up Mount Neverest and back down towards the Shado-Pan Monastery, about 40 minutes. Dark tracks on white snow are easy to follow, but the climb isn't. Its grey goat look is shared by many other goats; the challenge is the chase. Any spec (Gruffhorn).

Checked in October 2026 against Petopia, Wowhead and warcraft-secrets.com. Players reported tames of Portent, Hexapos, Glimmer and Savage in 2025 and 2026; for Rockhide and Stompy the newest reports are older. Tamed one recently? Tell us.
