Lost Spectral Gryphon: The Secret Stormwind Spirit Beast

Sometimes a small glowing feather lies in the hay of the gryphon roost in Stormwind. Only hunters see it, and clicking it calls the Lost Spectral Gryphon, the first spirit beast with a gryphon look. Petopia and the secret-finding community solved it in April 2017.

How to tame it

  1. Be a hunter in Beast Mastery: spirit beasts are exotic pets.
  2. Go to the gryphon roost next to the Stormwind flight master (71.0, 72.0).
  3. Watch the hay for the Spectral Feather and click it.
  4. The Lost Spectral Gryphon appears as a neutral beast. Tame it right away, before someone else attacks it.

Good to know

  • The feather's timer is unpredictable: sources range from half an hour to many hours.
  • Only hunters level 45 and up see the feather, but once someone has clicked it, any hunter can tame the gryphon.
  • Horde hunters can do it too, if they sneak into Stormwind.
