Secrets of Azeroth: Whodunnit?, Satchels and Jumpjets
In late summer 2023 Blizzard turned secret hunting into an official event. For two weeks, from 31 August to 13 September, new clues appeared every day in Valdrakken's inn and on Blizzard's own social media, and the whole community chased an artifact thief across Azeroth. The event is over, but its puzzles were left in the game and can still be solved today.

The detective toys
Three of the early secrets reward the tools you need for everything else, and they are still useful for later secrets such as the felcycle:
- Tricked-Out Thinking Cap: shows coordinates relative to a starting point, used to follow clues like "(15, 15)".
- Torch of Pyrreth: channel it on braziers, crystals and dirt mounds to reveal hidden objects.
- Idol of Ohn'ahra: highlights hidden objects such as gems, dust and tomes nearby.

Whodunnit?
The main story starts with Preservationist Kathos and Bobby Carlisle in the Valdrakken inn. It has fifteen secrets, each a short quest that sends you somewhere in Azeroth with one of the toys: a golden chalice hidden among the bank's coins, a tuskarr explorer's spear on the Borean Tundra, a burial banner returned to the Maruuk, ancient tomes in Karazhan's library, and finally the lit orbs and power relays of Tyrhold in Thaldraszus. Solving all fifteen awards the Whodunnit? achievement, Pattie's Cap and the Honorary Preservationist title. Tyr's Titan Key, forged in the tenth secret, is a toy of its own.

The Buried Satchels
During the event Blizzard hid clues in its news articles, forum posts and social media: an edited header image, a picture's alt text, a tweet about snowmen. Each one pointed to a Buried Satchel somewhere in the world, from the bottom of Bloodvenom Falls in Felwood to the claw of a fallen dragon in Dragonblight. Finding them counts toward Community Rumors and Community Rumor Mill; the full set rewards Tobias, a dog companion. The satchels are still there, and a full list of their spots is kept on Warcraft Wiki.
Mimiron's Jumpjets
The flying mount is built from three booster parts, and each needs friends:
- First part: three players light the braziers on Jaguero Isle off the Cape of Stranglethorn with the Torch of Pyrreth and defeat the Enigma Ward.
- Second part: in the Irontree Woods of Felwood, one player becomes an Enigmamental and has to absorb three others before it bursts.
- Third part: by the Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands, destroy the two Legion Flak Cannons and keep attackers off the player who channels on the part for twelve seconds.
Bring all three to the Empowered Arcane Forge in Valdrakken to assemble the Jumpjets.
