Faithful Dog: Following Dog from Pandaria to Khaz Algar
Few companions have followed players as faithfully as Dog. He found you in Pandaria, waited at your garrison in Draenor, turned up in Dalaran thanks to a pebble, and in The War Within, after Dalaran crashed on Khaz Algar, he finally becomes your own pet.

Step 1: Pandaria
In the Valley of the Four Winds, reach the rank with the Tillers that offers the quest Lost and Lonely. Finish it and the lost dog runs off to your farm at the Sunsong Ranch.
Step 2: your garrison
In Draenor, Dog follows you and sits by the Herb Garden of your garrison. The Herb Garden must be built for him to appear.

Step 3: a pebble from Dalaran (Legion)
Patch 7.2 added a hidden way to bring Dog to Legion's Dalaran. Find a Loose Pebble on the streets of Dalaran above the Broken Isles; they are tiny, so zoom in, or buy a Pebble on the Auction House. Take it to your garrison and show it to Dog. He sniffs the stone and licks your hand. Back in Dalaran, you will find him in the Magical Menagerie, looking very well cared for.

Step 4: the Isle of Dorn (The War Within)
When Dalaran fell on Khaz Algar, Dog was lost again. Find the Half-Buried Dog Bowl among the ruins of Dalaran on the Tranquil Strand of the Isle of Dorn (around 31.5, 51.3) and interact with it. You hear a distant bark, Dog runs up to you, and after a pat on the head he becomes your Faithful Dog companion.

Dog reacts to a few emotes: try /kiss, /love and /pet.
