Gortham: How to Free the Secret Kapara in Nexus-Point Xenas
The first big secret of Midnight is a small one: a pink-furred kapara stuck in the pipework of a dungeon in Voidstorm, waiting for five players who know where to stand and are willing to take a few hits for it.

Before you go
- You need a full five-player group at level 90. The step can't be done with fewer players or with NPC followers, because every conduit needs its own player.
- Any difficulty works. Normal is the most relaxed choice, since the conduits hurt and you don't want trash pulling into you while you stand on them.
- Agree on a countdown in party chat or voice before you start. Most failed attempts come from one player stepping on a second too early or too late.
Step 1: clear the Corespark Engineway
Enter Nexus-Point Xenas and head into the wing that leads to Chief Corewright Kasreth. The corridor before his room is the Corespark Engineway. Clear every pack of trash in it, but don't pull Kasreth. The secret happens before the boss.
Step 2: find the five Corespark Conduits
Along the Engineway there are five Corespark Conduits: plates in the floor that look a little like small portals, spread out along the corridor. Count them together before you start and give each player one conduit, so nobody ends up racing a teammate for the same plate.

Step 3: everyone steps on at once
On the countdown, all five players step onto their conduits at the same moment and stay on them for a few seconds. The conduits deal heavy damage while you stand on them, so use a personal defensive, and have the healer ready to top everyone up. If the timing works, the conduits overload, the pipes burst and something gets knocked loose in the middle of the wing.
If nothing happens, someone was early or late. Step off, let the healer catch up and try the countdown again. There's no lockout for failing.
Step 4: open the cage
A Netherstorm Structural Cage drops near the middle of the wing. Click it to free the kapara and loot Gortham.

You also earn the Feat of Strength You Conduit! and another secret toward Mind-Seeker.
Once the cage has popped in an instance, other level 90 players who zone into the same instance can loot the pet too, so one successful group can share it with friends or guildmates.
About the pet
Gortham is a beast-family battle pet. Its Pet Journal entry calls it Kasreth's most treasured experiment: "a living anomaly", a pink-furred creature that scampers happily through conduits and pipes. Its abilities are Scratch, Sniff Out, Ethereal, Face Bite, Cute As A Button and Arcane Dash.
It's one of the easiest secrets to finish in a single evening, and a good first taste of how secrets work: nothing in the dungeon tells you the conduits do anything at all.
