Guest Relations: Anniversary Mysteries and the Detective Title

Guest Relations is the sequel to Secrets of Azeroth: a detective story played out during World of Warcraft's yearly anniversary celebration in Tanaris. You solve guest mysteries, chase a shapeshifter across Northrend and recover stolen celebration goods, and finishing enough of it starts the hunt for Incognitro, the Indecipherable Felcycle.

The rewards

  • I Saved the Party and All I Got Was This Lousy Hat: finish the Guest Relations storyline. Rewards the High-Alert and Bright Ideas Thinking Caps.
  • Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager: finish all the hidden local stories. Rewards the Tricked-Out Thinking Cap.
  • Crate Insurance Agent and No Crate Left Behind: return six, then all, of the Celebration Crates hidden around the world.
  • Azeroth's Greatest Detective: complete two of the four above for the Detective title.
  • Ratts' Revenge: uncover Ratts' story and take back her stolen prize, the felcycle.

How it works

The event starts with Alyx at the Celebration Pavilion. A short introduction teaches the three tools from Secrets of Azeroth again: the Idol of Ohn'ahra, the Torch of Pyrreth and the Tricked-Out Thinking Cap, which tracks coordinates. After that Alyx hands out cryptic puzzles and the four chapters of the story:

  1. The "Great" Detective: a guest has gone missing. Question Team Solid, dig up a body on Wavestrider Beach with the torch, and follow a suspect to Northrend, where it turns out a shapeshifter has taken the detective's place.
  2. Toy Trouble: missing toys across the Dragon Isles, Dazar'alor and Boralus, and a culprit who turns out to be a dog.
  3. A Pirate Predicament: a pirate cook's recipe for a banquet, with fish from all over Azeroth and a secret ingredient from Hrothgar's Landing.
  4. Secret in the Sands: a treasure trail through the Ruins of Uldum and Zul'Farrak, using the thinking cap's coordinates.

The road to the felcycle

Earning Azeroth's Greatest Detective is the first requirement for the felcycle secret. The event's wandering merchant, Vashti, also sold the Scroll of Fel Binding that one of the felcycle's puzzles needs. The full hunt is in our Incognitro walkthrough.
